 How does your author's personal life relate to larger social issues?  Is that an essential part of a powerful narrative?  Why or why not?

The author's personal life relates to the larger social issue of police brutality and racism in America. Considering the author is Black and went through these struggles first hand, his narrative became a powerful one. having someone that first hand went through the struggles gives us a narrative beyond what we read about what happens because this person is giving us a reason to acknowledge what is happening and make us feel the emotions first hand.
