I believe this quote is trying to convey that we keep our minds close minded, unaccepting to new ideas, we like to think as everything in the way we've always thought about it. We don't want to change our thinking. When the time comes, where someone challenges the way you think of something, you tend to coward away and don't give them time to explain why they think that way. We like to stay in our comfort zone.
